Presenter Biographies:

Carol Evans, RN:
Carol Evans, RN, BSN, HP (ASCP) is currently an Apheresis Staff RN at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. After graduating from Arizona State University in 1992 she began her nursing career in general medicine and oncology at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix. From there, she started with United Blood Services as a Supervisor over Donor Plateletpheresis and then progressed to Therapeutic Apheresis including PBSC collections, photopheresis, RBC exchanges and cellular depletions. After cross- training in hemodialysis at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix while maintaining her competency in therapeutic apheresis, she began work at Mayo Clinic in 2005 in the Apheresis, Ambulatory Infusion and Dialysis Units. She also performs pediatric stem cell collections for the joint BMT program between Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Mayo Clinic. She has been involved with Dendreon collections with Mayo Clinic Arizona since the program started in March 2011.

Alan Bryce, MD:
Dr. Bryce is a medical oncologist at Mayo Clinic Arizona with a focus in Genitourinary Oncology and Immmunotherapy. After participating in the phase III registration trial for provenge, Mayo Clinic was the first center in Arizona to offer Provenge after FDA approval and currently treats 1-2 patients per week.

Sergio Torloni, MD:
Dr. Sergio Torloni is currently the medical director of transfusion medicine at Mayo Clinic. He is involved in stem cell collections, clinical trials, and therapeutic apheresis.
